ST. CROIX — One of the owners of The Fred Hotel in Frederiksted told police he was abducted Wednesday afternoon at gunpoint by assailants. According to a V.I.P.D. report issued Wednesday night, the victim told V.I.P.D. detectives he was taken against his will and transported to multiple locations where his ATM card was used to withdraw money from his account. He was later released with minor injuries.

Earlier in the day, the 911 emergency call center had received a report of males in a stolen vehicle at about 2:50 p.m. at The Fred Hotel, according to Mr. Derima. The latest V.I.P.D. report updated the initial call to 1:15 p.m.
