ST. CROIX — A North Carolina man was arrested on Friday morning on St. Croix and charged with second-degree assault and simple assaulting after allegedly strangling his intimate partner.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to Green Cay, where a female reported that she was strangled by 31-year-old Rodney K. Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina, her intimate partner.
Williams was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections without bail in accordance with the territory’s domestic violence laws, Mr. Derima said. His advisement hearing is expected to be held this week.
