ST. THOMAS — The Virgin Islands Police Department is investigating a robbery and carjacking that occurred near Drake’s Seat on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the VIPD, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report at approximately 2:39 p.m. from a citizen who stated they had just been robbed in the area. Responding patrol units met with the victims, who told officers they had been held at gunpoint by multiple armed individuals.
The suspects reportedly fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle, a silver Infiniti EX35. Authorities are urging the public not to approach the vehicle or its occupants if spotted. Instead, individuals should immediately call 911.
The Criminal Investigation Bureau is leading the investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the VIPD at 340-774-2211 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
