ST. THOMAS — On July 22 at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers assigned to the Special Operations Bureau arrested Rasoromeo Archibald, age 39 of Bovoni Housing and Tyler Lamarrie, age 30 of Estate Bovoni, charging them with possession of an unlicensed firearm, according to a V.I.P.D. news release.

Officers on patrol on Emile Francis Memorial Drive in the area of Sapphire Hotel responded to render assistance to passengers in an overturned vehicle, Police Spokesman Toby Derima said. While assisting the occupants of the vehicle, officers observed a rifle and a handgun. Archibald and Lamarrie are not licensed to possess firearms in the Virgin Islands and were arrested as a result of having those weapons.

Unable to post bail of $50,000 each, both men were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending their advisement hearings.
