ST. THOMAS — Two men armed with handguns went to the Emerald Beach Resort in St. Thomas on Friday morning and attempted to enter a room that was occupied at the time by a guest, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced.
V.I.P.D. and V.I. Port Authority officers at around 9:51 a.m. responded to the incident. According Mr. Derima, an investigation revealed that two unknown black males, wearing black hoodies and face masks, armed with handguns, attempted to gain entry into one of the hotel's rooms, which at the time was occupied by a guest. The guest denied the suspects entry into the room and they subsequently fled the area, Mr. Derima said.
V.I.P.D. detectives are urging anyone with information about this incident to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211 extension 5557, or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-8477.
"Remember, if you see something, say something," said the V.I.P.D.
