Victim found with severe neck injuries; police seek witnesses to Simmonds Alley attack

Man Wounded in Daylight Assault on St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — A man was reportedly injured in a violent assault that occurred in Simmonds Alley, St. Thomas  on Wednesday at around 12:15 p.m., the V.I. Police Department has announced.

According to police, the 911 Emergency Call Center received a distress call reporting a man bleeding from the neck near Jala Jala on Kronprindsens Gade.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim with a significant laceration to the left side of his neck. The injuries were said to have been sustained from an assault in Simmonds Alley. The victim, however, declined to provide an official statement to the police at the scene. He was subsequently transported by ambulance to Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The VIPD's Criminal Investigation Bureau is actively investigating the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the assault to come forward.
