Man Surrenders to Police After Admitting to Burglarizing Legislature, Stealing Lawn Equipment

ST. THOMAS — A man surrendered to police on Wednesday after admitting to burglarizing the Earl B. Ottley Legislature premises, according to police spokesman Toby Derima.

According to the news release, on Wednesday at approximately 10:50 a.m., police arrested 50-year-old Kyle F. Woods and charged him with third-degree burglary.

Woods turned himself in to police and admitted to burglarizing the Virgin Islands Legislature building on July 27 and leaving with the Legislature's lawn equipment, Mr. Derima said. He was placed under arrest as a result.

Woods was issued what the VIPD referred to as an "Appearance Ticket" to appear at the Richard Callwood Command for his advisement hearing.
