Man Shot Near Kennedy Housing Community While in Vehicle With Friends

ST. CROIX — A man told police that he was shot near the John F. Kennedy Housing Community while in a vehicle with friends.

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer, on Saturday at 11:34 p.m., personnel from the Juan F. Luis Hospital reported a gunshot victim to the 911 Emergency Call Center.

The male victim told police that he was driving with his friends west on the Northside Road, in the vicinity of the JFK housing community when they heard several shots being fired.

When they got to the Five Corners intersection in La Grande Princesse, the driver realized that he was injured. He then switched seats with his friend who took him to the hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to his right forearm.

None of the parties observed where the shots were coming from or who may have shot at them, according to the V.I.P.D. release.
