ST. THOMAS — Police are investigating a late-night shooting in the Simmonds Alley area after officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the face and transported him to the hospital for treatment.
According to the V.I. Police Department, patrol officers and members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau were dispatched to Simmonds Alley at approximately 10:08 p.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2026, following reports of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an adult male with a single gunshot wound to the face.
Emergency medical services responded and transported the victim to Schneider Regional Medical Center, where he was evaluated and treated for his injuries. Police did not release additional information about the victim’s condition or identity.
The VIPD said detectives are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. No arrests have been announced, and no suspect information was released as of press time.
Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
