CRUZ BAY, ST. JOHN — A man was shot during an armed robbery near the Post Office in Cruz Bay on Thursday night, according to V.I. Police Department Officers stationed at the Leander Jurgen Command.
At around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to the area following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a male victim who reported that he and his coworkers were walking towards the Cruz Bay Dock when an unknown man armed with a firearm approached them and demanded their belongings.
The victim stated that he engaged in a physical altercation with the armed suspect, which resulted in him being shot. The assailant then took the victim's belongings and fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The V.I.P.D.'s Criminal Investigation Bureau is currently investigating the incident.
