ST. THOMAS — Police have arrested a man who admitted to assaulting a male victim with a baseball bat at the victim's residence.
On Tuesday at approximately 10:19 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched detectives to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in reference to an assault victim.
The victim reported that he was at his residence in Estate Tutu when the suspect approached him and started arguing. The suspect reportedly retrieved a baseball bat from his vehicle and assaulted the victim.
The victim identified Reivin Jimenez Hernandez, age 20 of Bovoni, as the assailant.
On Wednesday at roughly 4:10 p.m., detectives arrested Hernandez and charged him with third-degree assault and disturbance of peace, after he admitted to assaulting the victim.
Unable to make bail of $25,000, Hernandez was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
