ST. CROIX — A grocery store in Concordia was robbed at gunpoint on Monday night, with the suspect leaving the establishment with all the money the store had made for the day.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on Monday at approximately 8:43 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched police to a robbery at the Supersave Grocery in Estate Concordia.
An investigation revealed that an unknown black male entered the store and walked behind the counter where the store owner and another employee were standing. The male pointed a gun at them and demanded that they open the cash register. The suspect then took the day's proceeds and a cellphone, according to Mr. Derima. The suspect then ordered both individuals on the floor and left the area.
The suspect was described as short and wearing a purple hooded jacket. The suspect hid his face with the hoodie and his hand. No injuries were reported, Mr. Derima said.
