ST. CROIX — A man told police on Thursday morning that he was robbed at gunpoint by an assailant who fled the scene on a bicycle after taking the victim's jewelry.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on March 5 at approximately 11:30 a.m., an adult male walked into the Wilbur Francis Command in Mars Hill and told police that he was at a street side vendor on Fisher Street, Frederiksted when a black male with dreadlocks approached him with a handgun and demanded his jewelry.
The victim complied and the suspect left the area on a bicycle, traveling on Queen Street, according to police. The victim was not injured during this incident.
