Man Rearrested Immediately After Release From Federal Prison, Charged With Murder In Connection With 2018 Homicide

ST. CROIX — A man who was released from federal prison after serving time for weapons-related crimes was immediately detained to face charges in the U.S. Virgin Islands in connection with a 2018 murder, the V.I.P.D. announced late Thursday.

According to the news release, Ameade Williams, age 27 of Two Williams was arrested on December 9 at 3:45 p.m. and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault, first-degree arson, second-degree arson, misprison of a felony, and accessory after the fact in connection with the killing of 23-year-old Emile Brin on July 14, 2018.

Williams was serving federal time on the U.S. mainland for weapons charges and was released on November 26. He was immediately taken into custody and detained by West Virginia State Police pending extradition from West Virginia to St. Croix on the day of his arrest, according to police.

Unable to make bail of $1 million, Williams was remanded to the Golden Grove Correctional Facility pending his advisement hearing.
