Man Injured During St. Thomas Shooting Near Nisky Center

ST. THOMAS — On Saturday at approximately 11 p.m., police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the Nisky Center intersection, according to a V.I.P.D. news release.

Upon arrival to the area, officers located a black male who was injured by gunshot.  The victim expressed that he did not know who shot him. The victim was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment, said Toby Derima, V.I.P.D. spokesman.

St. Thomas/St. John Chief of Police Steven Phillip appealed to the community to assist the VIPD in solving this crime.  Anyone with any information regarding this incident is urged to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211 extension 5608, or Crime Stoppers USVI at (800) 222-TIPS.
