Scene of Saturday night's shooting in Castle Coakley
ST. CROIX — A man was injured during a Castle Coakley shooting that occurred Saturday night, according to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima.
The incident, which took place at about 6:59 p.m., saw multiple gunshots being fired toward a tree where the victim told police he was. The street in question is the main road heading south from the El Sol restaurant, closer to the North Caribbean Adventist Book Center and Health Food Store.
Police officers were dispatched to the scene to investigate the matter upon being dispatched by the 911 Emergency Call Center. The victim told detectives that he was sitting under a tree when a vehicle pulled up and an unknown person fired shots at him. The victim suffered several gunshot wounds and was transported to the Juan Francisco Luis Hospital for treatment.
