ST. THOMAS — A man was shot Sunday night while with a friend in a vehicle after an assailant in another vehicle drove up to the side of their car and opened fire, according to a police report.
According to the V.I.P.D. news report, on Sunday at 11:43 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to Brookman Road to investigate an apparent shooting incident. Security personnel in the area contacted police after discovering evidence of a shooting and blood.
At 11:50 p.m., the Emergency Call Center received a call from the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center reporting a male gunshot victim who came in for treatment.
According to the news release, the victim and a friend, while leaving the area, observed an unknown suspect driving a white vehicle alongside their vehicle when the suspect opened fire.
