ST. CROIX — A man was shot and killed late Friday night inside Bienvenido’s Bar in Estate Profit, prompting a homicide investigation by the V.I. Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit.
VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte confirmed that the 911 Emergency Call Center on St. Croix received a report at around 11:53 p.m. on Friday, October 17, indicating that a man had been shot inside the establishment.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male victim lying face down inside the bar, according to the police report. Emergency Medical Technicians arrived shortly thereafter and determined that the victim showed no vital signs.
The victim has been identified by a family member as 49-year-old Hoedelair Germaine.
As of Saturday, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. Authorities confirmed that the Major Crimes Unit is leading the investigation.
The department has not disclosed a motive or additional details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
