Man Found Dead at His Apartment in St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — Police are investigating the death of a man found at his apartment as a suicide.

According to V.I.P.D. Director of Communications Glen Dratte, on Tuesday at about 4:49 a.m., concerned residents notified the 911 Emergency Call Center of a male at an apartment in Agnes Fancy who appeared to have committed suicide.

According to the release, units from the Richard N. Callwood Command along with units from the Criminal Investigation Bureau traveled to Agnes Fancy and discovered a Caucasian male hanging from a rope. The rope was tied to the iron rail that is affixed the steps leading to his apartment.

Emergency Medical Technicians on scene concluded that the male did not have any vital signs.

His identity was being withheld pending next of kin notification. A preliminary investigation did not reveal any signs of foul play, according to police.
