ST. CROIX — A man who was in his vehicle driving in Estate Grove was struck by a stray bullet Sunday night during a drive-by shootout, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced.
At about 8:30 p.m. Sunday, the 911 emergency call center was notified of multiple shots being fired from moving vehicles in Estate Grove. A police investigation revealed that the shooters had no regard for bystanders in the surrounding area, Mr. Derima said.
During the incident, a male victim who was driving on the road was shot in the shoulder by a stray bullet. The victim was transported to the Juan F. Hospital via private vehicle for treatment.
