ST. THOMAS — A man was pronounced dead after being removed from the sea at the waterfront in Charlotte Amalie Thursday night, the V.I.P.D. has confirmed to the Consortium. The incident occurred just after 9:00 p.m. during what police say was an argument between the driver and a woman who was in the vehicle with him.
V.I.P.D. Director of Communications Glen Dratte said that the man got enraged and drove the vehicle, a small SUV, into the water, leading to his death. A Good Samaritan in the area managed to save the female victim, and she has since been transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for treatment, according to the police department.
