Man Dies After Being Shot Multiple Times in Estate Tutu

ST. THOMAS — A St. Thomas man died after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to the body in Tutu Valley during the early hours of Thursday morning, the V.I. Police Department has announced. 

According to police spokesman Toby Derma, on Thursday at approximately 1:47 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call from a concerned citizen that shots were fired in the Tutu area. Officers traveled to the scene and found an unresponsive black male on the ground. The male appeared to have sustained multiple gunshots to the body, Mr. Derima said.

Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene concluded that the male did not have any vital signs.

The victim was identified by next of kin as 26-year-old Shaq’kil Roberts.
