ST. CROIX — On July 14 at 12:25 a.m., police arrested Eardley U. Pant, 39 of Williams Delight, and charged him with carrying a firearm openly or concealed, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced.
While conducting a DUI checkpoint on Queen Mary Highway, in the vicinity of Villa La Reine, officers pulled over a vehicle being driven by Pant. During the traffic stop, Pant exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended, Mr. Derima said.
After an unlicensed firearm was found along the waistline of Pant’s clothing, he was arrested.
Unable to make bail of $50,000, Pant was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advisement hearing.
