Man Arrested on Domestic Violence Charge After Allegedly Assaulting Girlfriend

ST. THOMAS — The V.I. Police Department on Thursday reported the arrest of 46-year-old Marlon Gustavo Reyes, who voluntarily surrendered to the Domestic Violence Unit at the Richard Callwood Command in St. Thomas, following an alleged domestic violence incident.

The arrest stems from a report made on January 6, when the 911 Emergency Call Center received a call about a female victim assaulted in the Vester Gade area. The victim, identified as Reyes's girlfriend, reported that the assault occurred after an argument between the couple.

Reyes was advised of his Constitutional Rights and was subsequently arrested and charged with third-degree assault, simple assault, and disturbance of the peace. 

The Domestic Violence Unit is actively investigating the case, according to the VIPD. The Police Department is urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward and contact the authorities.
