ST. THOMAS — A man identified as Jordan Clendinen, 27, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly discharging a firearm at an individual's residence in St. John.
The arrest followed an incident that took place last year on November 29, 2022, which has been under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
The victim reported the incident at the Leander Jurgen Command on the day of the occurrence. According to his account, a female coworker had sought refuge at his home following a domestic dispute with Clendinen, her boyfriend.
While the coworker was still at his residence, Clendinen arrived, presumably in search of her. After he departed from the victim's residence, Clendinen allegedly fired shots at the house. No injuries were reported from the incident.
An arrest warrant was issued for Clendinen after he was identified as the suspected shooter. Authorities made contact with him near the ferry dock on St. John. Clendinen was then transported to the Richard N. Callwood Command on St. Thomas for processing.
Charges against Clendinen include first-degree assault, third-degree assault, trespassing, unlawful entry, and disturbance of the peace. He was unable to post bail of $100,000, and has since been turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
