Man Arrested for Burglarizing Tire Shop in St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — On Wednesday at about 11:24 a.m., V.I.P.D. officers arrested Matthew Fontaine, age 28, and charged him with third-degree burglary, grand larceny and possession of stolen property in connection with a burglary incident at a tire shop in St. Thomas.

According to Police Spokesman Toby Derima, Fontaine, who was already in the custody of the Bureau of Corrections for an unrelated offense, was charged for the burglary of Luther’s Tire Shop in Smith Bay.

Unable to post bail of $25,000, he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
