ST. THOMAS — Arnold A. Malone, aged 49, was arrested after turning himself in on Sunday for his involvement in a series of incidents that occurred on February 2.
The offenses, as reported by the VIPD's Criminal Investigation Bureau, include first-degree assault, third-degree assault, assault with a deadly weapon, and several traffic-related charges. According to VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte, Malone also discharged shots during the confrontation with officers.
The incidents took place at the Blyden Terminal/Veterans Drive/Contant (Michele Motel) area, with the initial offense being recorded at 2:10 p.m. on February 02. Malone was implicated in three separate car accidents, leaving the scene in each instance. He was later apprehended after a final confrontation, where he used his vehicle to strike a police unit and nearly hit an officer.
Malone turned himself in at approximately 3:30 p.m. on February 04. Following his arrest, the bail was set at $75,000.
