ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department has arrested a man after conducting an investigation into an alleged unlawful sexual contact incident filed against the suspect.

According to V.I.P.D. Director of Communications Glen Dratte, on November 19, 2020 the alleged victim walked into the Richard N. Callwood Command in St. Thomas and reported that she was sexually assaulted by John M. Green, age 58, at the King's Alley Hotel on St. Croix.

The case was transferred to members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau on St. Croix, and after an investigation was conducted, an arrest warrant was sought and approved by V.I. Superior Court Magistrate Earnest Morris Jr. on Sept. 7, which cleared the V.I.P.D. officers to arrest Green.

Members of the Criminal Investigation Bureau located Green on Friday and placed him under arrest at 3:11 p.m., according to the Police Department. He was charged with first-degree unlawful sexual contact.

Unable to post the $35,000 bail, Green was remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending his advisement hearing set for September 26.
