ST. THOMAS — The VIPD's Criminal Investigation Bureau has arrested 48-year-old Willy Gregorio, a resident of Hospital Ground, on charges of third-degree assault and disturbance of the peace.

According to a release issued Friday, the arrest, made on Thursday at around 5:00 p.m., follows an incident that occurred in the early hours of December 30, 2023. Police officers responded to a call from the Schneider Regional Medical Center, where a female victim reported being cut with a knife. The victim identified Willy Gregorio as her assailant and was treated for a laceration to her left, upper thigh.

The investigation into the incident revealed that the altercation took place at Kissary Bar. Gregorio reportedly entered the bar seeking to exchange an opened beer for a cold one. When his request was denied, he allegedly retrieved a switchblade knife and assaulted the victim, causing injury.

The VIPD is encouraging anyone with information about this incident to contact the authorities. Reports can be made to 911, Detective Y. LoBlack of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, or the office of the Police Chief at (340) 774-2211.
