Suspect Arrested for Alleged Shooting of Male Victim in Watergut

ST. CROIX — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting incident that almost resulted in the death of a male victim in August.

According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on October 6 at 3:19 p.m., detectives of the V.I.P.D. Criminal Investigation Bureau and officers of the Special Operations Bureau executed a warrant on 32-year-old Curtis Williams of no fixed address.

He was charged with attempted murder, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of ammunition.

Williams is accused of shooting an adult male near the Watergut Shanty on August 22, causing life-threatening injuries.

He was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing after failing to post bail of $250,000, according to Mr. Derima.
