ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department has reported the arrest of Shawn Alexander, who was wanted for aggravated rape. Alexander, 40, turned himself in at the Wilbur Francis Command on Tuesday, following a police issued Wanted Ad on Monday.

The arrest stemmed from an incident reported last Thursday, when an adult female and a minor walked into the Ancilmo D. Marshall Command Police Station. According to the minor, she was inappropriately touched and sexually assaulted by Alexander, leading her to disclose the actions to an adult in her household.

Upon surrendering to the authorities, Alexander was Mirandized but declined to provide a statement. He was subsequently processed and formally charged with first-degree aggravated rape. The court set his bail at $150,000, which he was unable to post, resulting in his remand to the John Bell Correctional Facility.

Alexander awaits his Advice of Rights hearing, where further legal proceedings will be determined.
