ST. THOMAS — A St. Thomas man was arrested on rape charges after admitting to having a sexual relationship with a minor, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced.
According to the news release, on Tuesday at approximately 2:00 p.m., Tasheem Raheem Leonard, age 27 of Mariendahl, was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated rape, domestic violence.
Mr. Derima said the minor, female victim reported to police that Leonard engaged in a sexual relationship with her sometime in 2020. Leonard admitted to the act and was placed under arrest.
The suspect was not offered bail as per the territory’s domestic violence statutes, and was turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
