ST. CROIX — A man has been arrested and charged with felony firearm offenses after police identified what appeared to be the handle of a gun protruding from his waistband during the Christmas Boat Parade in Christiansted. The incident occurred on December 14, leading to the arrest of Judah Donadelle.
According to police reports, officers were on special assignment for the holiday event when they noticed a man walking south on Queen Cross Street. The outline of what appeared to be a firearm handle was visible through the man’s white t-shirt. The officers approached him and questioned whether he was carrying a firearm. Donadelle reportedly admitted to having a gun and also acknowledged that he did not possess a license to carry the weapon in the territory.
Following his admission, Donadelle was arrested immediately and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition. Forensic technicians later identified the weapon as a Glock 48 9mm handgun, which was loaded with a magazine containing nine rounds of live ammunition.
Unable to post the initial $50,000 bail, Donadelle was remanded into custody. During his advice of rights hearing on Monday, Magistrate Yolan Brow Ross found probable cause to uphold the charges against him. Judge Ross adjusted the bail terms, allowing Donadelle to post $1,000 in cash, with the remaining balance signed as an unsecured bond.
Specific conditions of his bail were not available in publicly released court documents at the time of reporting. Donadelle’s next court appearance is scheduled for December 31.
