ST. CROIX — On Tuesday at approximately 7:04 a.m., 46-year-old Maximiliano Velasquez of Estate Plessen was arrested and charged with first-degree unlawful sexual contact.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, a concerned citizen reported to police that a minor was sexually assaulted by an adult male relative, later identified as Velasquez. The minor confirmed the allegation, and Velasquez was placed under arrest, according to Mr. Derima.
No bail was set for Velasquez in accordance with the territory’s domestic violence statutes, according to report, and Velasquez was subsequently turned over to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
