ST. JOHN — V.I. police officers are investigating a burglary incident at a home in St. John where over $1,000 worth of valuables were stolen.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, on Wednesday at approximately 11:44 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched officers to a residence in Estate Glucksberg in reference to a reported burglary.
The victims stated that they awoke that morning to find that their valuables, worth over $1,000, were missing. A subsequent review of surveillance footage revealed that at approximately 4:28 a.m., a male, armed with a gun, wearing a hoodie and sweatpants, entered into the residence and stole the items, according to the news release. The suspect then fled the area on foot. None of the occupants were injured. This burglary is the latest in a string of incidents in the Glucksberg area that detectives are investigating.
Detectives asked area residents to be vigilant in securing their homes, and to be on the lookout for the suspect, who usually burglarizes homes between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., Mr. Derima said.
