ST. CROIX — On Wednesday at roughly 5:17 p.m., 29-year-old Francisco Tirado III of Frederiksted was arrested by detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau and charged with first-degree rape, first-degree assault and first-degree unlawful sexual contact after he allegedly took a detour with a woman he offered a ride and raped her.
VIPD Public Information Officer Toby Derima said Tirado was identified as the individual who offered the victim a ride home but took her to a different location and forcibly sexually assaulted her on April 25.
Unable to make bail of $100,000, Tirado was remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending his advisement hearing.
