ST. THOMAS — A man who reportedly burglarized a Charlotte Amalie construction project twice in two months is now facing several charges before the V.I. Superior Court.

According to court documents, police first responded to reports of a burglary at a construction office on Kongensgade, in the vicinity of 99 steps, on April 7. The temporary office built on the site had been broken into at some point over the previous weekend, and almost $7000 worth of tools taken.

A month later, police were dispatched to the same location. This time, the intruder had forced their way into the cottages on site, making off with tools valued at just over $700.

Surveillance footage from both the April and May incidents reportedly shows a man identified as Jean Connor. In the April footage, Connor is seen approaching the worksite empty-handed and later walking away carrying a large black garbage bag over one shoulder. In the May video, he is reportedly seen entering the property, prying open several windows, going inside the structures, and exiting with items in his hands.

Connor was arrested on Monday when police working on a different case encountered him inside the monitor's office of the former Addelita Cancryn school.

He was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, grand larceny, trespassing, and unlawful entry in both matters, resulting in a total of eight counts against him.

According to public court records, Connor appeared before Magistrate Paula Norkaitis on Tuesday, however the results of his advice of rights hearings have not yet been published.
