ST. THOMAS — In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, six men were arrested during a series of joint operations conducted throughout February by the V.I. Police Department, in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Agency and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force.

The operations targeted the Red Hook area of St. Thomas, known for its illegal narcotics distribution activities.

The successful operation culminated in the execution of warrants, leading to the arrests of six individuals:

  • N’Kel Morton, aged 30, was arrested on March 8, 2024, at Red Hook Plaza and was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
  • Jaamal Bell, aged 42, was apprehended on March 7, 2024, at American Yacht Harbor. He faces charges of possession with intent to distribute.
  • Peter Francis Jr., aged 33, was also arrested at American Yacht Harbor on the same charge.
  • Anwar Lockhart, aged 40, was taken into custody on March 15, 2024, on Cassi Hill and was charged with distribution of cocaine.
  • Niah Henry, aged 35, was arrested on March 16, 2024, at Red Hook Plaza, charged with possession with intent to distribute.
  • Kenson Plasimond, aged 43, was arrested on March 7, 2024, at Tutu Park Mall and charged with possession with intent to distribute.

The operation reflects ongoing efforts by local and federal agencies to combat drug trafficking within the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the arrests mark another step forward.
