Update: The suspect has been arrested. She was identified as Angelica V. Lee, age 40 of Dronningens Gade, Charlotte Amalie.

ORIGINAL STORY: ST. THOMAS — A woman providing contract work for the Antilles School on St. Thomas fired two gunshots into the air during an argument with a coworker, according to police.

The Virgin Islands Police Department said officers were dispatched to the private school shortly after 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, after two women who were providing contract work got into a verbal confrontation that escalated into a physical fight.

According to the V.I.P.D., one of the women then retrieved her legally licensed firearm, shot two rounds in the air, and then pointed it at the other woman.

No arrests have been made and the matter is under investigation.

An Antilles School spokeswoman said the school is cooperating with police. “Antilles has a zero tolerance policy regarding gun use on campus, and has cancelled the company’s contract,” said Ananta Pancham, communications director at Antilles.

Police ask that anyone with information on this matter is asked to call 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at (340) 774-2211 or contact Crime Stoppers USVI with an anonymous tip here.
