ST. THOMAS — Two men were shot early Saturday in the vicinity of Double Play bar on Krondprindsens Gade, the V.I. Police Department has confirmed to The Consortium. The department says no suspects have been identified.
According to VIPD Director of Communications Glen Dratte, Central Dispatch was notified at approximately 1:10 a.m. on September 19 that two male gunshot victims had arrived at Schneider Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle. Shortly afterward, 911 received notification through the ShotSpotter detection system that gunfire had been detected in the area of Double Play.
Police said both men sustained at least one gunshot wound. VIPD did not provide their identities, describe the severity of their injuries or disclose additional information about the circumstances leading to the shooting. The incident is being investigated as first-degree assault.
