Victim seeks cover amid gunfire; VIPD appeals for information

ST. THOMAS — A shooting incident on Kronprindsens Gade (Simons Alley) has prompted an investigation by the V.I. Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Bureau. Authorities are now calling for public assistance to gather information about the event that unfolded on the evening of April 1.

At approximately 10:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Schnieder Regional Medical Center following reports of a gunshot victim. Early findings from the investigation indicate that the victim was in the vicinity of Simons Alley when multiple gunshots were heard. Seeking safety, the individual ran to cover and subsequently discovered they had been struck by a bullet, suffering a gunshot wound to the body. The victim was then transported to the hospital in a private vehicle for medical attention.

The identity of the shooter remains unknown, and the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. The VIPD is reaching out to the community for any information related to this incident.
