Gunshot Victim in St. Thomas Initially Refuses, Then Seeks Medical Attention and Declines to Provide Statement

ST. THOMAS — A gunshot incident on Commandant Gade drew police and detectives to the scene on Wednesday, according to the V.I. Police Department. Authorities found an individual who had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his right inner thigh.

Initially, the victim told the officers that he felt fine and declined medical assistance. However, he later changed his mind and was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center via ambulance for treatment.

The man opted not to provide a statement to investigators and claimed to have no knowledge of who might be responsible for his injuries.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is currently leading the investigation into the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to this incident to come forward.
