ST. CROIX — A gunman robbed a woman on Sunday afternoon of her purse while she was in the parking lot of the Breezez Restaurant in Estate Golden Rock, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced. The purse included cash and important documents, according to the police report.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at approximately 1:56 p.m. Sunday by the 911 Emergency Call Center.
The female victim reported that while sitting in her vehicle outside of Breezez Bar and Restaurant waiting for her order, a young, slim, dark-skinned male wearing a white shirt and a dark colored doo-rag over his face pointed a gun to her head and demanded that she hand over her purse. The suspect threatened to kill the victim and she complied by giving her handbag which contained cash and documents. The suspect then fled the scene.
Mr. Derima said the incident is under investigation. The police force is asking anyone with information about the occurrence to call 911, the Crime TipLine at (340) 778-4950, or send an anonymously to Crime Stoppers USVI here.
