Gun Violence Breaks Out on St. Croix as Second Man is Shot and Killed in One Day

ST. CROIX — A man died after being shot multiple times in Lorraine Village this afternoon, as gun violence breaks out on St. Croix following the shooting death of a man at HH Tire & Battery this morning. 

The Lorraine Village shooting occurred after 3:00 p.m. V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima said the 911 Emergency Call Center was notified of the shooting at 3:25 p.m. At least 10 shots were fired.

In another shooting, which occurred at around 4:45 p.m., about 15 shots were fired in the vicinity of the Alfredo Andrews Elementary school, according to emergency personnel.

The victim of the Lorraine Village shooting was identified as 26-year-old Kaleem Ramsey.

The victim who was shot and killed at HH Tire and Battery, identified as 27-year-old Aaron Joseph, was from Grove. Ramsey was from Lorraine Village, which is also in Grove.

Police were on the scene of the Lorraine Village shooting investigating the incident. Emergency Medical Technicians were also on the scene to examine the victim but no vital signs were found.

Police officers will be blanketing the Grove area for the next 72 hours, according to a police source speaking on the condition of anonymity.
