ST. THOMAS — On Wednesday around 11:50 a.m., detectives apprehended a man wanted by law enforcement in Pinellas County, Florida, the V.I. Police Department has announced.
The suspect was being detained at Cyril E. King Airport by the Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) on suspicion of being a fugitive from justice.
Upon arriving at the scene, the detectives were presented with a warrant by a CBP Officer for the arrest of 32-year-old Brandon C. Shaw. The warrant, issued by the Pinellas County Sherriff's Office in Florida, also included the necessary paperwork for Shaw's extradition.
After being taken into custody, Shaw was immediately transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center for a preliminary Covid-19 test. Subsequent to the test, he was then taken to the Richard N. Callwood Command. At this location, he was booked, processed, and finally turned over to the Bureau of Corrections. Shaw now awaits his Advice of Rights hearing.
