ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department is currently investigating a tragic incident in Sion Hill where a father is said to have shot his son. Previously, the VIPD reported that the son died as a result of the shooting, however, the department updated its report to state that the victim had undergone emergency surgery.
At approximately 12:29 p.m., the St. Croix 911 call center received a distressing call reporting that a male individual had been shot in the abdomen by his father. Emergency Medical Services (EMS), along with VIPD forensic units, promptly responded and were on-site conducting their investigation.
The VIPD has confirmed the incident and stated that further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
The investigation remains active; anyone with information about the shooting is asked to submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers USVI here.
