ST. CROIX — The suspect who on Friday night brutally assaulted his ex-girlfriend and fired multiple gunshots at the vehicle of the man she was with, turned himself in to police late Sunday, the VIPD has confirmed to the Consortium.

Joseph Greaux, who is facing attempted murder and several other chargers, had drove up to the victims' vehicle at the Value Pack Gas Station in La Grande Princesse at about 10:22 p.m., where the vicious attack took place.

According to a VIPD report, officers responded to a 911 call from an adult female, who reported that her ex-boyfriend, Greaux, had shot at her friend and later physically assaulted her.

Officers who arrived at the scene discovered multiple spent casings on the roadway and gathered additional casings at the service station as evidence. The investigation into the incident revealed a harrowing sequence of events. Greaux, driving a gray Acura TSX, confronted the victims at the gas station. He approached the driver's side of the victim's vehicle, armed with a gun, and then moved toward the female passenger. As the driver attempted to escape, Greaux fired three shots at the vehicle.

Following the shooting, Greaux then began to physically assault the female victim, causing her to fall to the ground, according to video footage viewed by the Consortium and information provided by the VIPD.

During the assault, Greaux dropped his firearm but quickly retrieved it and continued the assault. He then pursued the driver in his vehicle, heading southbound, but returned shortly to the gas station to assault the female victim again before fleeing the scene.

The male victim's vehicle was significantly damaged, with two bullet holes in the rear windshield, one in the trunk, and a scratch mark on the front passenger door. The female victim sustained injuries to her mouth, chin, and arms.

In response to this incident, the VIPD issued an All Points Bulletin via the 911 Emergency Call Center and is actively investigating the case as an attempted murder, the department told the Consortium.

After turning himself in, bail for Greaux — who refused to provide a statement to police — was set at $100,000, and he was remanded to the John A. Bell Correctional facility pending his advice of rights hearing, scheduled for Monday.
