ST. CROIX — A couple was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night at the Cruzan Princesse Apartment Condominiums, with two assailants fleeing the scene with the victims' belongings, police spokesman Toby Derima has announced.
According to the news release, on Tuesday at about 8:57 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received reports of shots fired in the Cruzan Princesse Apartment Condominiums area. The call center also received a report of a robbery that occurred in that area.
Officers traveled to the area and made contact with two persons who reported that when they arrived at their apartment building, they were approached by two armed males who demanded the female’s purse, stated Mr. Derima. The suspects then left the area in a vehicle and discharged shots in the air as they fled.
