ST. THOMAS — Police have arrested a St. Thomas couple for allegedly assaulting a male victim and damaging his vehicle.
V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Deriima said officers arrested 23-year-old Katina Evans of Paul M. Pearson Gardens on charges of third-degree assault, damage to vehicle, and disturbance of peace by fighting. Raquan Penn, age 19 of Oswald Harris Court, was charged with third-degree assault, aiding and abetting, simple assault and battery, and disturbance of peace by fighting.
According to the news release, the victim in this incident reported that Evans and Penn assaulted him in the Oswald Harris Court Community Center and damaged his vehicle around 6:00 p.m. on February 5. The victim also stated that Evans attempted to stab him with a knife and used an electronic stun gun to assault him.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. on February 6, Evans was arrested by officers in the Oswald Harris Court community. Subsequently, on February 7, Penn was arrested after he turned himself in to police around 8:05 p.m.
Unable to make bail of $25,000 each, both suspects were remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending their advisement hearing.
