ST. CROIX — On Thursday at about 10:15 a.m., police arrested Rahkeem S. Swanston, age 20 in connection with a shooting incident that occurred Wednesday at the Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion housing community. The next day at around 10:15 a.m., Rahkeem's brother, Zomari K. Swanston, age 30, was also placed under arrest in relation to the same incident, according to police spokesman Toby Derima.
Both men, of Estate Whim, were charged with third-degree assault, reckless endangerment, carrying a firearm openly or concealed, aiming and discharging a firearm, and possession of ammunition, according to the police report.
The Swanston brothers were identified as shooters in an incident which resulted in a woman being shot at the Walter I.M. Hodge Pavilion housing community on July 1, Mr. Derima said.
Unable to make bail of $75,000 and $25,000, respectively, Rahkeem Swanston and Zomari Swanston were remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending their advisement hearing.
